The Hāpai Ō team are highly skilled and trained to support tāngata whai i te ora. This will ensure that the homes are kept safe and secure, and our community is kept safe.

Hāpai Ō is provided to the community by Te Hā Oranga (a part of Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Whātua). Tē Hā Oranga have an extensive track record of service provision and partnership across the rohe of Ngāti Whātua. These services, teams and partner provider networks support Hāpai Ō to provide a comprehensive and safe programme of care for tāngata whai i te ora and their whānau.

Hāpai Ō Kaimahi/Staff members:

Kaimanaaki


Kaimanaaki are peer support workers (with minimum level 4 health qualifications) who have the necessary experience and skills to support, motivate and navigate tāngata whai i te ora to live a life free from offending. It is intended that each house will be staffed by Kaimanaaki 24/7 to ensure safety and security is maintained at all hours.


Clinical oversight


Clinical oversight is provided by clinicians with expertise in working with people who have offended, and backgrounds in alcohol and drug addiction counselling. 


Cultural Suport


Cultural support is provided by a kaumatua/cultural support lead who will support tāngata whai i te ora and kaimahi to reconnect with te ao Māori.
